A few of the many thoughts and feelings I have regarding my season opener at Singapore Open's 400m today:
While we were waiting to get onto the track for our finals, the entertainment/announcement team played one of my favourite songs and waved to me. I was so touched I wanted to cry.
Later, right before race, I was walking to my blocks and felt so... Happy. I was overwhelmed with a feeling gratefulness; for the opportunity to run for my country once again, grateful for what my legs can do with just 2 months of training and grateful that I get to do what I love.
I went on to clock 56.33s and win the Silver for SG. Being 0.1s behind my PB is huge considering I've only started running 2 months ago (after a 3 month long injury-rehab process of learning how to walk, then run, again).
It's a good place to be, I'm excited for the rest of the season. Thank you for all your support so far. It means the world that you've supported and followed me through my dark tunnel of injury and now we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel together.
Shoutout to Coach Luis, Nike (who has been the most amazing and understanding sponsor), Dr Cormac, and the wonderful staff at SSI esp to those I harass the most Joe, Carl and HK 😊, and Physique who kindly let me jump into their cryosauna twice for this meet!

Hitting the pavement to train for a race, whether it’s a half marathon or a fun run, can bring the two of you closer & help you both hold yourselves accountable for #training days.
5. Create a #bucketlist of places you want to #visit together.
6. Have an indoor picnic
Serve dinner on a #picnic blanket laid out in the living room. Open a bottle of wine with some favorite finger foods. An indoor picnic can be even more fun and #romantic than a traditional outdoor one. Quieter & no mosquitoes.
7. Mystery trip
Pack your bags, just get into the car & drive. Stop when you want to eat or get a closer look at something of interest. Or browse airbnb.com & stay at a local place for the #night.
8. Take a new class together
Try something you’ve never done before, like a cooking, dance or pottery class. Research shows that #learning new skills & boost brainpower.
9. When all else fails, there are always things like flying a kite, karaoke, bowling, rock climbing, rollerblading, ice-skating, go-karting, horseback riding, waterskiing, bungee jumping & sky diving.
